All My Children & One Life to Live are back and better than ever!

SO SUPER EXCITING, right?
I can't tell you how sad I was when they were canceled. I was hopeful that they would come back in a different format, but the news didn't always make me feel very optimistic.
But they're back! TODAY!
Kind of feels like Christmas. I started watching "my stories" with my mother and grandmother, and I feel like I grew up with these characters. The Networks got it wrong. Soaps are not dying. They are not just for older viewers and stay at home moms although many in those categories love them too. Young women (and MEN) like to come home and lose themselves in these kinds of story lines. It's all fantasy, and it's all fun, and I can't wait to jump back into Pine Valley and Llanview.
If you aren't familiar with them, and always wanted to watch, now would be a perfect time to start. The format will now be a 30 minute weekday episode with a recap on Friday. They've recruited some really cool guest stars too, including Snoop Lion, Riff Raff, and Nervo.
Some AMC Facts to get you up to speed:
Since 1970, the residents of All My Children's Pine Valley, PA -- including its most famous citizen, Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) have seen their fair share of scandalous hookups, feuds, and devastating murders. Pine Valley luminaries include resident hero Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison), Fusion Cosmetics maven Greenlee du Pres (Rebecca Budig), perpetual troublemaker David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry), funnyman Tad Martin (Michael E. Knight), and the unforgettable romantic duo of Angie and Jesse Hubbard (Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams).
OH MAN. Look at that picture! Angie and Jesse. Dixie. Adam Chandler. BIANCA. CANNOT. WAIT.
Some OLTL facts:
The good people of Llanview, Pennsylvania, lead complicated lives. In a town of questionable marriage ethics, teenagers grow up fast and fall in love quickly. The quiet simplicity of small-town living on the Llantano River is frequently upset by an over-abundance of multiple personalities who disturb the peace. Despite the jealousy, betrayal, and occasional baby-swapping, Llanview is where the Buchanan, Lord, and Cramer families struggle to retain the strong family ties that have always united them.
Not going to lie, this has been one of my favorite shows since the dawn of time. I cried last February. Some episodes will live forever on my DVR. And look at that picture. Holy cow, everyone is on this show including Corbin Bleu as Jeffery King as well as returning actors Erika Slezak as Victoria Lord Buchanan, Robin Strasser as Dorian Lord, Tuc Watkins as David Vickers, Robert S. Woods as Bo Buchanan, Kassie DePaiva as Blair Cramer, Jerry verDorn as Clint Buchanan, Florencia Lozano as Tea Delgado, Melissa Archer as Natalie Buchanan Banks, Hillary B. Smith as Nora Buchanan, Kelley Missal as Danielle Manning, Josh Kelly as Cutter Wentworth, and Andrew Trischitta as Jack Manning. Recurring actors include: Sean Ringgold as Shaun Evans, Shenaz Treasury as Rama Patel, and Nick Choksi as Vimal Patel. Be still my heart.
They both premiere tonight at Midnight on Hulu, and will also be available on Hulu+ and iTunes. Because these shows are no longer on a regular TV network, there will be more adult content. STEAMY!

Palmolive Fresh Infusions

Well, you know I love Influenster, and in my latest package, I received three bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish soap. I have been loyal to another brand for years. Like I would never buy anything different. I was totally skeptical, but they smelled really great. They're pretty as well, they actually look nice sitting next to your sink. The scents are Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme, & Ginger White Tea. I shared Ginger White Tea with a friend (the pink one), and kept the other two. Lime Basil is my favorite scent. I hand wash all of my pans and we are pretty hard on them. I find that bacon is really difficult and requires 875 squirts from my former dish soap. Nope, just one from Palmolive Fresh Infusions and not a hint of bacon smell after. You also don't need to scrub forever. Much like a good shampoo lathers easily, these dish soaps bubble FOREVER. So awesome. Crazy affordable too - $2.96 at Walmart. Thanks to the coupons I received from Influenster, all of my friends have been able to try them, and everyone is equally as happy as I am. Goodbye old brand. I'm never going back.

Dino Lingo

Holy Cow! I have discovered the coolest thing ever! Foreign language instruction doesn't begin until middle school in many parts of America but for most of us, it is a priority to make sure our kids speak more than one language. However, there are not many resources available to help young children that are fun and engaging. Enter Dino Lingo: The most captivating foreign language instruction system for children that I have seen so far. I clicked this clip and my six year old dropped everything that he was doing to run and see what it was all about. He then proclaimed, "WE NEED THIS!" I agree! We have a lot of friends who are native French speakers, and I speak a bit of French, but if you don't use it daily, you lose it, so it would be really fun for both of us to go through this together. While I work on my French through a program designed for adults, my son can use Dino Lingo as an introduction to French and soon we can be using a second language in our house and with our friends! Dino Lingo is available in 30 languages and offers a full immersion system. Check out their method - better than most of the expensive classes that you can send your kids to. We'll definitely be picking this one up.

Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012

This is the second VoxBox that I received from Influenster and BY FAR my favorite. Keep them coming! In it, I received: NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact - Dark Shadows - A complete compact for smoky eyes. Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit - OMG, I love fake lashes but have a massive inability to apply them by myself. With the applicator, it's a piece of cake. Loved these. Bath and Body Works Mini Candle in Black Pepper Bergamot - so yummy and just as good as the competition at a better price. EBOOST - Kind of like Emergen-C - great season for it. Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin - I squeed when I saw these. I have wanted them for a long time. They rule hard. Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream - Makes your curls look amazing and the grape seed and jasmine smell will seriously bring all the boys to your yard. I cannot stop smelling my hair and neither can anyone else. I also received Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin for Normal/Dry skin and it is amazing. Thank you so much, Influenster. Everything in this box is my jam.

Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin

So it is that time of year again where my skin just dries right out. My huge problem is that I am really sensitive to a lot of products. It's so difficult to find anything that does not irritate my skin, that actually works, and does not cost eight million dollars. I was excited to try Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin when I received it in my Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012. It's a two step system to clean and moisturize, and I received the normal/dry version which was perfect. YOU GUYS. Within about 4 days of using the products, especially the amazing night cream, my face was silky smooth, with no dry patches anywhere. You do not understand how miraculous this is. It doesn't matter how much water I drink, or how clean I eat, it is impossible for my skin to stay moisturized properly in the winter. Not anymore. I had heard about Boots No. 7 when I was in England. Everyone raved about how great these products were. I am so happy to have been able to try them for myself and see how great the results actually are. And they're crazy affordable and readily available. I am happy to be able to use skin care products that are meant for adults and not babies. OH happy day!

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

I have been wanting to try these FOREVER so I was super psyched when I received them as part of the Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012. Goody has never let me down. They've been my go to hair accessory brand since WAY BACK in the day. The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins are seriously the best thing to ever happen to my hair. I have long thick hair and it takes about 8675309 bobby pins to put my hair up into a french twist, bun, whatever. With the spin pin it takes five seconds. FIVE SECONDS. To amazing hair. These things are a life changer. You can do several different styles with them, but for me, it is just really important to not just throw my hair in a ponytail and look sloppy when I don't have time to do it. I like a nice updo. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Goody. You have literally changed my life.

NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact

As part of the Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012, I received the NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact. I love eyeshadow and I was already familiar with the brand. There are a lot of non believers out there but this is a high quality product for the price. I was super pleased to receive Dark Shadows, because I really love the smoky look. The primer is AMAZING and is a super nice bonus if you have problems with your shadow sliding off your face. The highlighter is pretty rad too. If you're new to the smoky eye look, just follow the directions and it's really easy to get a very professional look. Best of all, this compact costs $4.99. And it really is THAT GOOD. This is great for every day use and if you're traveling, you don't need to bring a billion eyeshadows with you - they're all right there in this compact. You may want to use your own brushes - the ones that come with the compact are decent but not outstanding. But hey, at that price, who cares?
